Keith Guster - drums

Keith left home for London to turn professional at the tender age of 17, making his first ever record with the group Fleur de Lys which was a famous underground rock band in the mid-sixties.

Since then he has played drums in bands and groups all over England and also on the continent, touring along-side big names such as The Beach Boys and Aretha Franklin to name just two. Keith also made a reputation for being a top session drummer playing on other peoples records. Check out the links!

During Keith's remarkable musical career, he turned down jobs with Alan Price and The Marmalade, who with their many hits would probably have made Keith very rich and famous! (Lucky for Quartz that he didn't!)Keith has personally known many 'rock-stars' in his past - among them Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and Jimmi Hendrix.

After joining Reading based soul band 'The Amboy Jukes' in 1970, he moved to Reading and became the resident drummer at The Top Rank Suite backing big name cabaret artists. since then he has played in various bands until the formation of Quartz in September 1990.

Recently Keith discovered that there is still an active fan-club for his old band 'Fleur de Lys' and when he contacted them he was quite amazed to learn that all of his old recordings had been compiled onto a CD which was commercially available.
