Tragically, Chris lost his fight for life on Sunday June 26 2011.

He had many, many friends and who loved and respected him

Chris will be remembered not only for his passion for music but also his passion for people and the way that he helped so many of them.

A year has gone by so fast. We have done much with the band and I know you would have loved to have been with us to enjoy our successes. We all still miss you like crazy and wish your passing was just a silly nightmare.  We will never forget you and each time we play, we know you are with us.

Its shocking when you realise what\'s gone on, and still cant believe its happened. right up till the end you worked, partied and influenced people in your life.

Whether you know it or not I did my skydive after talking to you on the week of the 10th of June and you were right - it was amazing.

So many good times, and the long drive home chats, putting the world to rights. But hey we were good at that. Amazingly as much as I hate to admit it, you were mostly right (lol) but always respected the other person.

Respect does come to you and always will.

Sadly we can’t make it on Tuesday, we will be mid air on route to Spain. Our thoughts go out to Di and the family.

I will spend a few moments during the flight remembering good times that I have had Thanks to Mr Robinson…… Many a good night was had at the Pubs Dad had, many a good night sadly can’t be remembered (Drink)... The most special nights that will never be forgotten, mine and Ruth’s wedding reception, my 30th, My Stag Doo and my son’s christening to say I enjoyed the Onyx experience is an understatement. Thanks also to Kevin.

I am sure you have touched many more peoples hearts just like mine, your memory will always live On, Another cup of Coffee and Going Home will always be special…

Hopefully Uptown Traffic will return to Aldbourne for my daughters christening and give us another day to remember.

Rest in Peace Chris

Matt

I have only known Chris for the last few years but it feels like I've lost someone I've known all my life. He was an extremely likeable and very kind man, always eager to please and help other people. He will be sadly missed but never ever forgotten. All our thoughts go out to his lovely wife, Diane and her family at this time.

I had known Chris since I was 13 when he used to come along on a Sunday afternoon and jam with my band, he was always better than the rest of us, but it was not until we were about 18 and we met again and he asked me to audition for his new band, The Phalic Symbols!  Later to be called Uptown Traffic, naturally I was asked to join with my other best friend Paul, also a sax player.

That was the beginning of our firm friendship that has lasted ever since.

According to our band web site we had musical differences and the band split up.  But as with all things we re-formed a few years later and went from strength to strength.

35 years later we were back together again still playing the same old songs but with the help of oxygen in the intervals!!!!  The moral is never give up and Chris played with us just two weeks before he passed away, a true professional.  We miss you already, with all your little quirks.  No one was allowed to touch his gear, everything had to be put away in order, the list goes on, but that was Chris. I still think you are going to walk through that door and say it was a wind up!!!!

The next time I am in Lanzarote I will have a shot or two and REMEMBER.

Why do the best always leave us early from your very first phone call to the pub in 2000 I had the feeling a special friend had entered my life.

You mocked and teased me by trying to copy my accent and always used the word Darling (in your funny accent). I will treasure this for the rest of my life along with your help and support in arranging my stage debut of ET O MEY my Bulgarian favourite.

There are many memories of Birthdays, Parties and Functions that where given THE ROBINSON FACTOR truely unique and never to be missed. Chris you will always be in my thoughts and also in those of my Family and friends who met you. Heaven has gained a Special Angel and I wait for the times when I need a little lift I can look up and hear your music raining down. Rest in Peace Chris but dont give up the Music.

Love and Kisses Rene XXXXXX Your Friend forever XXX

I never got the chance to say goodbye to you Chris. Everything happened so quickly.  I believe you knew it was the end and I just hope you packed in as many things as you could in those last few weeks.  We were friends for 40 years and I will miss the many games of cards we shared over those years, especially the double jokers, something between the four of us!  Our main concern now is Di, and I promise that I will be there for her if ever she needs me.
We will miss you loads.

I don't think that i knew Chris, but, when any talented musician moves on, it is sad for all of us. I would like to add my deepest respect and condolences to Chris's family and friends. I always live in the hope that we will all meet, and make music together in the beyond.
Kindest regards to all of the people who were fortunate to share a part of Chris\'s life.

Chris, oh boy, you were such a great mate to me and there are many things I didn't get a chance to say to you - including thank you.

You put me under your wing and lifted me high when ever times got tough for me, you always inspired me by the way you helped everybody, you always made me feel very special and very safe, you would guide me when I couldn't work those problems out for myself and I have always felt that you were my guardian angel looking out for me.

We had so many great times together sharing the stage making music and finding out how to also do it with computers. Sorry we never finished that album, now I'll have to do it on my own but at least I won't have the endless job of fine-tuning your vocals!

You were a perfectionist in many, many ways and you would moan at me - especially about my crappy guitar cables which used to crackle or when I positioned my gear in places which got in the way of
your master-plan - and you were far from a perfectionist in other ways like forgetting the coda, coming into the first verse too soon, or completely buggering up your guitar solo for which I would get the chance to give you a good bollocking! But we were always best of friends regardless of how long it had been since we last tied up and sometimes that was a good few years. Nothing had changed and we always had a great laff!!!

I am going to miss you mate more than any words I can say - from your hour-long phone calls just when dinner was ready, to those crazy band ideas of yours where I would laugh at you, but then astonishingly you would just make it happen!!!

Bye old buddy, I will pick out one star in the sky for you and think of you every time I see it - that way we'll still be a duo.

Lastly....... I hope to Christ they've got a decent amp for you up there!!!! Play it loud - "yeah?" !!!!!

Kev
