Day 3 - Arrive Sunday June 23 - 07:30, Depart 23:00

Koper is approximately 30 miles away from Triest which is listed as the next port of call. However, as Triest is so close, Marella may well change the itinerary of the Adriatic cruise. Rivenna on the Italy's east coast is closer to Venice - and also Bologna.

If we do visit Koper, the town is close to another town Piran which is frequently visited by cruise ship passengers on the same day

Overview of Piran featuring the Franciscan Monastery in Piran

K
oper was a little quiet on Sunday so caught a local bus to Piran which was beautiful and buzzing with many more shops open.

Highly recommend if you come to Koper.

Less than 5€ return for both of us and buses take and run every 30 minutes even on a Sunday.

if you walk along the port just past the little craft market (on a Sunday) you will see the bus stop on the right.

Just pay cash on bus and it costs 2.3€ return. You can stay as long as you want then catch bus back again where it dropped you off.
