Whie working as Webmaster at Newbury College, I also had time to start to teach and of course music technology was a subject I had the expertise to teach! There were various classes which I took and the most enjoyable was a class of adults with physical disabilities at The Ormonde Resource Centre in Newbury.

As a group we competed a project called ORCWB and this was a spoof radio show featuring each member of the class singing to a backing track I had helped them create along with spoof adverts, weather and news reports and comic features like a 'wheelchair bunjee jump'! (Their own idea I might add!)

I became good friends with Trevor Dobson who was not only one of the class but also a theatrical producer for The Nomads who are a local dramatic group.

By the end of 2004 I had fully qualified as a teacher passing all my City and Guilds exams, and was regularly teaching music as well as other technical media classes at the college and also freelance.

The opportunity came up for me to do some solo gigs! I remembered that I had really enjoyed performing the Electric Carol Shows on my own in their earlier years, so solo gigs were not at all out of the question. So I turned my attention to some local pubs and blew a few gigs there going under the name of Dysongs. One gig for The Ormonde Centre even had me performing outdoors on the bandstand in Newbury's Victoria park!

In their absolute wisdom the college decdied to make me redundant again in July 2007! So this time I decided that my best course of action was to go it alone and start my own business, drawing on my IT, musical, technical and teaching skills. Something which I think I shoud have done years ago!

So this is when 'Dysongs' really came into being although I'd banded the name around for quite a few years before this
