After a couple of years together Uptown Traffic changed personnel and when Tony, Jed and Graham decided to leave, the famous Mr Ricky Hicks (vocals) joined us along with Barry Keene (Drums) and Stuart Briggs (guitar - yes Uptown Traffic Mk2 had 3 guitarists!). We needed a bass player and so I called upon the services of mate Derek Perris again

Three months later Uptown Traffic disbanded and I joined up with John Kitchener (drums - ex-Harley Quinn), Jimmy Johnson (keyboards - ex-Strawbs), Dave Knowles (sax flute and gift of the gab! - ex-TonTon Macoute), Rod Garfield (harmonica), Paul Jones (vocals) and the very famous Nigel Reveller (percussion). Again, Derek Perris came back to play bass.
The name of the band was Cluster

Cluster

Cluster 1974 at Chievely Village Hall
Back - John Kitchener (Drums), me,
Rod Garfield (Blues Harp), Jim Johnson (Electric Piano). Front - Dave Knowles (Sax and Flute) and Derek Perris (Bass)

Rod Garfield who now is a big star in Australia saw my webpage in Oz and sent me this picture which I can't even remember being taken!
Nice one Rod!
